You have just entered my Home-Away-From-Home.
If this isn't your first visit you may want to close the gap..... (reload each page or clear your cache). I hope you brought your best looking glasses, (Microsoft Internet Explorer) and your hearing aid (Crescendo) so that you can see , hear and enjoy your visit to the fullest.....Thanks!! Now help yourself to a cup of coffee or a cool drink and visit for as long as you like. I'm really glad to have your company. Things around here aren't real fast paced like some other sites. Everything here is kinda spread out and laid back. I call it my little place, but it's soooo....BIG it covers nearly all of SouthEast Texas and beyond. It's a really neat place. In fact, people around here never even pass away. They just live forever in our hearts and minds and you can just visit any of them any time you want to.

RootsLady?, you ask. Well, let me explain. I've been doing genealogical research for over 25 years, I have a deep love for country music since my high school days at PNG, when I really was... "Country, when country wasn't cool." And my family roots run deep here in SouthEast Texas.

I've been real busy building this little country hide-a-way. Finally moved in here on October 17, 1996, and I don't believe it will ever be finished. In fact, its a good thing I've moved in here cause the dishes and clothes need washing at my other place. The garden needs weeding and somebody really should cook this week! Still got a lot of work to do furnishing my personal little "web ranch" in the country, so I hope you'll come by and visit often so I can take a break.

I've still got several more trunks full of genealogy to unload off the wagon, unpack and organize in my loft.  Boxes of country music to catalog and books to put on shelves. Lots of pictures to paste in albums and lists of all the other things I'm interested in to put in order. I'm working on putting my little loft office in order, then maybe I'll have time for some gardening, hunting, collecting, answering all that mail that just keeps stacking up, etc.  But we can sit right here and visit all of beautiful Southeast Texas and not even have to leave my old front porch swing. Here I can finally have that paperless office that everyone once talked about! I'm sure my family would really appreciate that. There's gonna be a lot of moving stuff around and I know it's gonna mess up bookmarks but I hope you will be patient and please "Link-It-To-Me" gently, cause it's my first time, you know.

I want to let you in on a LITTLE SECRET, right now, there are things around here that you wouldn't see with the naked eye. You have to look for them and if you find them I believe you will really get a feel for how things might have once been, how things might really look now in my virtual Southeast Texas, or some just might bring home a little reality. If you see a little box with a question mark like this Question Mark  Go ahead, click on it for a nice surprise. Sometimes it's something I just think is neat. Did you like what my little place might look like? Well, just as each one of us is a mix of all our ancestors before us, this little place is a mix of yesterday and today with hope and dreams for our tomorrows.

Even though this site has over 400 separate pages,  just remember, as long as you can see the smoke from the chimney, you can't get too lost.
