Obituaries

Obituaries can contain a wealth of information for family researchers. In fact they were the start of my 23 year old adventure. When my grandmother passed away she left a gold mine of information stuffed in an old cookie jar, and in her china cabinet and many other places around her home. I thank her for saving them and leaving little notes around the edges. I will print more as time allows. If you have copies you would like to add to the collection, please E-Mail me. It would be wonderful if you could type them, save as a text file and attach the file to the E-Mail. I will accept Xerox copies but it may take longer to post them. My "snail" address is at the end of this file. Copies of old newspapers on microfilm are often available at local libraries, such as Lamar University & Tyrrell Historical Library in Beaumont, Texas.

It is especially important to have an obituary if the grave happens to be unmarked.  I need to know the source and date if at all possible.
