Much research has been done on the Yancey Surname in years past by many different people. With the advent of computers and the Internet, millions of people across the globe now have a way of communicating, collecting and distributing information concerning the YANCEY surname and all it's variants. There is no longer the problem of each and every Yancey researcher having to start from scratch.
When the YANCEY-L Discussion List was started, Dennis J. Yancey of Florida, stepped forward and offered some his 15-plus years of research to be posted here so that old and new Yancey researchers would have a base of information to work from and duplication of work and expense could be minimized.
