Mrs. Clydia Lucille Yancey, age 56, of 151 Hodges St., Rainsville died
Thursday, September 20, at her residence. Funeral services were held Saturday, September
22, from the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Haymon and Junior Reed
officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Memory Garden cemetery with Rainsville
Funeral Home directing
Survivors include: Husband Mr. Cecil Yancey of Rainsville, 3 sons; Mr.
Lionel Mitchell of Reston, Va., Mr. Cecil Yancey Jr. and Mr Mark Yancey both of
Rainsville. 1 Daughter; Mrs. Linda Harris of Stuarts Draft, Va. 4 Brothers Mr. Floyd
Abbott of Fort Payne; Mr. Frank Thacker of Sylacaga, AL; Mr. Bob Thacker and Mr. Ed
Thacker both of Fort Payne, AL; 3 Sisters: Mrs. Willie Gilmore; Mrs. Neil Womack and Mrs.
Florence Parker all of Fort Payne, AL. 2 Grandchildren.
Mrs. Edna Barksdale Yancey, 87, of Attalla Rt. 3, died
Sunday in a local hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services were to be today at
3:30 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hoyt St. John, Hoyt Harlan
and Frank Tel officating. Graveside services and burial will be at Duck Springs Cemetery
at sunset today. Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Eloise McClendon; son, Elbert Dale Yancey;
son-in-law, Ralph McClendon, all of Attalla. Active pallbearers: Edgar C. Yancey, Glenn
Smith, Noel Barksdale, James McClain, Sam McClendon, Jerry Yancey, Wynn Toberson, Jerry
Tumlin. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. C. W. Odom and all personal friemds. Mrs. Yancey was a
native of DeKalb County and a resident of Etowah County most of her life. She was a member
of the Baptist Church. The body will remain at the funeral home through the hour of the
service. Memorials may be made to the building of Duck Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. George Dewey Yancey, age 65, of Dawson, Al., passed away Friday,
July 20, 1984, at BMC-Monteclairin Birmingham.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 22, 1984 at Beulah Baptist
Church woth Revs. Jerry Simmons and Charles Jones officiating. Burial followed in the
adjoinding cemetery.
Junior Arthur Yancey, 53, 400 Benton Ave,. Boaz, died Wednesday at the
residence. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home Chapel, Boaz,
with the Rev. T. Coleman officiating. Burial in Geraldine Cemetery. Survivors: wife, Mrs.
Thelma Souleyrette Yancey; daughter, Miss Mary Yancey, Boaz, Miss Cheryl Bell, son, Timmy
Yancey, both of Michigan; one grandaughter; brothers, Tommy and Jimmy Yancey; sisters,
Mrs. Lorene Tidmore, Mrrs. (sic) Pearl Little, Mrs. Betty Jones, all of Michigan.
Will T. Yancey, 85, Dawson Rt. 1, died Saturday night at the Baptist
Medical Center in DeKalb County. Funeral services were to be today at 10 am. at Rainsville
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aubie Phillips officiating. Burial was to be in Lusk
Chapel Cemetery. Survivors: brother-in-law, Otis M. Carr of Dawson; sister-in-law, Mrs.
Willie Heard of Collinsville and eight first cousins. Rainsville Funeral Home directing.
Yancy, Rev. C. D. - age 82 of Henagar died Tuesday, December 22, 1987 at
this residence.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 25 from the Kerby Funeral
Home Chapel with the Revs. Jim Watkins and Danny Cook officiating. Burial followed in the
Pea Ridge Cemetery with Kerby Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include: wife, Lula Neeley Yancy of Henagar; sons, Charles B.
Yancy of Chickamauga, Ga., James Yancy and Garland Yancey both of Henagar; daughters, Opal
Woody of North Carolina, Mary Zerbe of Pennsylvania and Burma Lindsey of Chattanooga;
sister, Betty Keith of Fort Payne, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
