CHARLES R. YANCEY
State of North Carolina, Orange County I CHARLES R. YANCEY knowing the uncertainty of life do this day [indite?] this my Last Will and Testament. First - I dedicate my soul to God who gave it. Second - I desire that my just debts are paid. I then give and bequeath all my property both personal and real to my beloved wife CHARLOTTE YANCEY, her heirs & assigns forever. I also appoint Sidney Jones to be my Executor to this my Last Will and Testament. In case SIDNEY JONES refuses to serve I then appoint JONES WATSON to serve as Executor in his stead. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 13th day of June 1855. C. R. YANCEY (SEAL)
Orange County Court - May term 1860. The execution of the foregoing Last Will & Testament of CHARLES R. YANCEY was duly proved in open court by the oaths of THOMAS A. LONG and WESLEY HOWARD and ordered to be recorded. At the same time JONES WATSON one of the executors therein named appeared in open court and qualified according to law.
