JOHN YANCEY

In the name of God, amen, I JOHN YANCEY of the county of Louisa and parish of St Martin do make and ordain this to be my Last Will & Testament in manner and form following:

My will and desire is that my wife ELIZABETH YANCEY shall possess the whole of my estate both real and personal during her natural life and that she shall dispose of it as she shall think proper.

Then my will and desire is that my executors hereafter named do pay all my just debts and receive and collect all money that is due me and then dispose of the balance of my estate as is above mentioned to my wife ELIZABETH.

Item - I appoint WILLIAM COOK and MATTHEW GRUBBS my executors to this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 1st day of July One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Three.

At a court held for Louisa County on the 10th day of June 1799 this will was this day exhibited in open court and was proved by the oath of WINGFIELD COSBY one of the witnesses thereto and by the court ordered to be recorded.
